Favorite Excerpt: “Rischa grinned and stood up, a fat, fuzzy caterpillar in her arms. It wriggled lazily, but couldn’t escape the child’s careful embrace. “I found a friend,” she called happily. “He’s very healthy. His wings will be so big when he’s all grown.”
“Not if you keep stressing him out like that, he won’t,” I pointed out, tapping my hand on the leaf she’d pried the caterpillar away from. Rischa stuck her tongue out at me, but released the wiggly thing back to its perch. She made sure it wasn’t about to slip off all the way to the ground below before taking to the air again on her dainty wings.”
Made some great headway today. I finished up the second chapter and got well into the third. These characters are such fun to write, and I’m glad when things come to me so quickly. I think I’ll really be ready for the weekend to just have words pouring out of my head. Very soon I’ll get to the start of the real action.
