He flared his wings and tried to sidestep the approaching hand. ‘Jacob, quit … it …’ All protests dropped off when Jacob lightly scratched at the back of Bowman’s sensitive wings. The nerves that ran all throughout the membrane were always primed and very sensitive so Bowman could feel shifts in air pressure.
The result, much to Jacob’s eternal amusement, was an instant off switch to any snark that Bowman might otherwise throw his way. Bowman practically melted into the floor, sinking down to sit on the carpet while his wings rolled open to begrudgingly accept more scratches.”
Aww yeah, I made my usual word count again! And I’m soooo close to the goal, holy crap! Today’s writing session was all adorable all the time. I sometimes forget how cathartic gt fluff actually is. These dorks just can’t quit, really. And I left myself at a stopping point right before some intrigue starts up again, so I’ll be able to cruise through word count tomorrow, too (knock on wood)!
