Nano begins! The story starts off getting to the action pretty quick, which is kind of unusual for me, but I like it. It gives me a chance to try to work in backstory in little bits, and maybe draw it out (and probably learn more about my characters as I go). Starting on a Thursday is a little bit iffy, but I may have done the first day’s writing early just to make sure I wouldn’t start off behind.

Excerpt:
The ship tilted, barely a few degrees more than the first time. And yet, as Seth glanced across the deck, the opposite railing rose up higher than it ever should. High enough that it obscured the horizon on the other side. It was all he could do to stumble to a railing and cling to it right as the tilt lowered again.
He definitely felt it in his stomach this time as the ship righted itself, then tilted the other way from sheer momentum. A few people yelled across the ship, and the hanging lifeboats smacked against the hull with loud, chilling thunks.
