They sorta do, I guess? Chase’s parents can’t exactly force a giant to go away, and Chase insists that he sticks around. So they gotta get used to him somehow. At least Chase looks after him, and he looks after Chase in turn. Minnie has probably also put in a good word.
As for giant hygiene, I’m certain Jacob has found ways to get clean water. He can also find a river if he wanders a bit away from the city. Lucky he’s already pretty good at roughing it!
