Anonymous Asked: Has Jacob ever hurt anyone with his grabbing?
It’s happened in one AU, which I’ll link below. Jacob, when he encounters a tiny person, tends to grab first and ask lots of questions before catching up to what he’s doing. it’s a pretty understandable response, but all the same he ends up feeling bad about it. It’s not very nice to do that to someone, after all! He puts in a lot of effort to do better from then forward.
That said, in a story written with nightmares06, Brothers Found, he did grab a little too hard and caused some serious bruising. That AU ended up being one of the more angsty AUs of Brothers Apart multiverse, so if you haven’t looked into it, beware the feels!
I’ve been extremely absent from my blog for … well, an embarrassing amount of time. But! I have a pretty good reason. Last month I began the preparations for a move several states away from where I grew up, and at the very end of March I finally made that leap! I had the stalwart emotional support of @nightmares06, who managed to fly out to where I was so we could drive all the way back in a race against time. We made it back just before several states in New England cracked down on this pandemic with more stay at home orders and the like.
So now, I have taken up residence in Massachusetts! I have work lined up (we’ll see how long this work from home shenanigans goes on), and I’ve been keeping busy settling in.
I’m eager to get back into writing, however. I’ve missed it! The flurry of the last few months is beginning to settle down, so I’m pleased to note that I will indeed be getting back into practice.

Hey, anon. This was a really good prompt. I chose to use the Brothers Found AU, co-created with @nightmares06. This is set sometime after Jacob in Wonderland.
The story is probably a 5-10 minute read.
When Jacob’s footsteps slowed to a stop, Bowman noticed right away. The steady, heavy crashing had been a mark of Jacob’s presence in Wellwood as he crushed fallen leaves and shook the very ground. As a giant human, he couldn’t help it, not that it stopped Bowman giving him a hard time.
“Find something?” Bowman called as he banked in a circle to head back to where Jacob had stopped.
His curiosity dropped away as soon as he glimpsed the rainy expression on Jacob’s face. Something was wrong.

“It’s … it’s my birthday already? You’re sure?” Oscar asked. He’d completely let it slip his mind. Not many things could sneak up on a master of stealth like him, but dates and holidays were a notable exception. He never remembered when Christmas or Easter was coming until they were there, much like his own birthday.
“That’s the truth, Oz,” Dean replied. He had leaned down on his crossed arms on the table, an attempt to be more at Oscar’s level. It didn’t completely work, but he could at least watch a smile grow on the little guy’s tiny face.
Sam already had his silver knife out of its sheath, but he offered it to Oscar instead. “We got it onto our calendar as soon as we knew. No more excuses to forget it!”
Oscar’s cheeks turned slightly pink. “Th-thanks!” He eyed the knife before taking it with reverence. Sam didn’t let that knife go very often, but one exception wouldn’t hurt. While Oscar hesitated with the knife over the miniature cake they’d brought him, he stammered out a defense of his own forgetfulness. “I-it’s not like I ever celebrated my birthday before. I’m usually too busy is all!”
“And miss out on cake?” Dean scoffed, even as Oscar finally cut into the little cake, an experience he’d never had a chance to try before. “We’re makin’ up for lost time, here.”
Oscar huffed, but didn’t let Dean’s teasing ruin his concentration. The first slice was a fourth of the whole cake, transferred onto a makeshift plate of aluminum foil. With it set aside, he offered it up to the full sized human and tried to ignore how small it looked. “W-well. Thanks again, guys. Better help me eat the cake, since you came all this way.”
Sam helped himself to his own more reasonable slice of cake while Dean accepted the small piece with a fingertip. Even then, they both waited for Oscar to have his own piece and try his first bite of birthday cake before having any for themselves.
I think this one would have to be set in the Brothers Found au, sometime after the events of Jacob in Wonderland.
Maybe it’s a dream, or maybe the trickster couldn’t resist coming back to poke at him, but it would start with Jacob finding himself at his extra-tiny size again, well after he was sure he’d never have to deal with that again. Between the terrifying flashbacks and the absurdity of trying to figure out what to do, it’d be a bit of a ride.
He’d wake up on his bed at home and his eyes would get super wide as he realized what happened. The mouse that he befriended during his misadventures would also be fretting for him as he tried to work out what to do. Can he call Sam and Dean? Can he even get to his phone, let alone open it to make a call?
Lucky his family would be out of the house to start with; he’d have some time to figure something out.
The story would probably be about him adjusting to his life in the wilderness, suddenly a lot bigger than anyone was ever meant to be. He’d have to find shelter, water, and food, and lots of it. All without happening across other people, who tend to scream and freak out when they see him. This, of course, wouldn’t be so easy for him, being over a hundred feet tall.
It would be a lot to get used to, and Growth Pains would be a perfect title for such a misadventure.
Does the unnamed Sad Oscar AU takes place in Brothers Consulted?
Oh gosh. You’re the first person to guess that!
Theunnamed Sad Oscar AUis indeed secretly a part ofBrothers Consulted. At some point during the writing of it, my cowriters couldn’t stand it any longer, and through nudges and some Upset conversations, it was decided that he needed a rescue inBrothers Consulted. So that“The End?” on the last installment was a red herring! It’s not truly the end of the Sad Oscar AU. Everything after that, well, it involves a Plot fromBrothers Consultedthat you will all have to wait and see (luckily it got voted in as the next story, so you’ll get closer to being able to guess the answer).
Of course, with BC and Oscar that means he willhaveto meet the Baker Street crew someday. One…
